Five Hundred and Fifty Five

The sun has returned to Portland this week along with warmer weather. We are all careening around like drunken sailors, smiling for no reason and feeling the sap rise.

Sun in the studio. Que bueno!

Journal writing. Unfocused. Smiling at all the fun stuff on the front and back burners.

Eating simple food with my snuckle bunny. (sorry - TMI)

Waxing and making plans. Looked out the window this morning and noticed fog.

John says fog happens when the ground is cold and the air is warm.

We have flowering quince. Yes!

We have garlic rising.

We have leeks; so good in pasta dishes or grilled and laid over rice.

Our apple tree, leaning into the light.

The cloche, tucked warmly under the canopy of Douglas Firs.

Moss on the maple tree.

Look Ro. The daffys are on the march. We are grinning. We can't help ourselves.

Rebecca wrote a wonderful blog post about the plaster workshop and the sign-ups are coming in. Thank you thank you thank you. We won't let you down.

I love this life. I just want to go around touching, embracing and laying my head down on the lap of the earth and giving thanks. Spring is in the air.

I can't wait to start eating veggies fresh from the garden. I just started cucumbers and radishes in the garage this week, and I can hardly wait for summer. Now I just have to clean out the weeds and replenish the veggies beds with yummy worm poo. :)

Oh what a joy to see that gree. Spring is very far off for us in the Northeast. We are in the very middle of our winter now... But our turn will come.
I love your words and images so much, Judy. Wishing your success and joy with the new book and the new class !!!

What a happy post! Love gardening! You know that garlic won't grow in Hawaii? Is that weird or what? Thank you for this heart warming post. Oh, meant to share with you that because of your inspiration, I am taking an encaustic wax class at the "Volcano Art Center" next month..yay!

My only whine is this: do we really have to wait until JUNE? Amazon tells me the release date (or delivery date) is June 2 so I guess we do.

Hi Judy do you not have a blog feed? For some reason I can't get you on my list or google reader!! Hope you get one!

So good to see your garden rising again, and don't you love the moss on our trees when it gathers in bunches like this. Perhaps not good for the "mother plant," but lovely none the less. I read in Martha Stewart's magazine that moss such as this has to be hit by water from on high. Evidently just watering the plant roots doesn't work. In other words, I guess, the only way we see it (moss) this way, is if it rains. - And I've got to write in my journal that the Mister started guitar lessons! Your John starts plants, my Norm starts songs.

What a fun post with so much variety. The pics make me yearn for spring.

Linda, you asked if it was an ongoing course or just this one time and I'll say that right now we only have this time planned. But you have until June to sign up and we have one person making payments so that is a possibility too.

It sure is looking like spring over there! Not one bit here, but that's okay too. Everything in its time!

It's a beautiful life you live -- especially because you know it!
